I need a babysitter to help me out about 3 days a week from around noon-dinnertime while I work from home.
I have two boys aged 4&6. My 6 year old is doing school online and would need some help getting set up for his afternoon Google meet.
The kids are fun and love to do a variety of activities. I used to be fun before I became so busy. Generally we are relaxed and flexible, however we have been very serious about keeping our circle small. We have been very diligent and I will not accept someone into the home who is not doing the same.
The ideal candidate would be a student who is living with their parents and doing school online. Someone who isn’t afraid of dogs and doesn’t mind the kitten. (We have a large Bernese mountain dog who is more of a living pillow than anything else, but if you are afraid of dogs he’s quite big).
Occasional child care requires a specific mindset. It's being comfortable and confident to step in and help a family from time to time and manage the adjustment particularly younger kids face to parents not being around.
Its important to create a safe, caring, nurturing and stimulating experience. A great babysitter from the kids perspective is someone who is fun, loves to play, sing, run and do creative projects. For a parent, it's all of the above, but also meal preparation for the kids, keeping the children’s areas neat and tidy, helping older kids with homework and being able to respect rules around discipline, nap/bed time and process.
