We are a young active family. My daughter is 8 months old and I will be starting to work from home soon.

  • Job Description

My partner and I are looking for an experienced caregiver for our 8 month old daughter in the Strathcona area.

We're looking for childcare 4 times a week for 4 hours a day during working hours. We are flexible with times but likely will be from 10-2 or 11-3 Monday to Thursday. Starting November 23rd.

Typical duties will mostly revolve around keeping my daughter entertained while I work. Playing with her, changing her diapers, minor snack prepping as we are doing baby lead weaning and light house work (I.E loading the dishwasher, tidying her room and setting the roomba off etc)

I will be working from home and will be able to breastfeed, help with the occasional meal prepping and anything else that may arise.

Pay is negotiable, depending on experience.

  • Important Information

Occasional child care requires a specific mindset. It's being comfortable and confident to step in and help a family from time to time and manage the adjustment particularly younger kids face to parents not being around.

Its important to create a safe, caring, nurturing and stimulating experience. A great babysitter from the kids perspective is someone who is fun, loves to play, sing, run and do creative projects. For a parent, it's all of the above, but also meal preparation for the kids, keeping the children’s areas neat and tidy, helping older kids with homework and being able to respect rules around discipline, nap/bed time and process.
