About the Family
I'm looking for a nanny for my 2 daughters (11 and 8 years old). We live near Patterson Station in Burnaby. I am looking for support between 6:45a and 9:15a or 2:45 - 4:45 during the school year on weekdays. Responsibilities would include preparing breakfast / snacks, preparing the children for school, light housekeeping, and dropping them off / picking up from school.
I'm looking for for an energetic and exciting nanny or babysitter with a driver's license.
I am a single dad and have a flexible schedule, some days I work from home. I need help when I'm away and at the office. We could find a schedule that works around your other obligations. Thanks for your interest!
Occasional child care requires a specific mindset. It's being comfortable and confident to step in and help a family from time to time and manage the adjustment particularly younger kids face to parents not being around.
Its important to create a safe, caring, nurturing and stimulating experience. A great babysitter from the kids perspective is someone who is fun, loves to play, sing, run and do creative projects. For a parent, it's all of the above, but also meal preparation for the kids, keeping the children’s areas neat and tidy, helping older kids with homework and being able to respect rules around discipline, nap/bed time and process.
