  • About Me

From January 2011 to July 2013 I worked as a supportive Roommate to a 35 year old lady with developmental disabilities. Between myself and other staff, we built an independent lifestyle she was able to maintain with continual support and renewed self worth.. Old goals were reached with enthusiasm and new goals set with higher expectation. In 2007 I worked for Bethesda Christian Association at the home with 2 Autistic young girls. I worked both Day and Night shifts, as well as worked with the Adult young ladies with disabilities that attended a Day program in the home. In the Fall of 2009 I worked in the dinning room of Lifestyle Options Retirement Community Leduc. For 6 months I gained the trust and built relationships with the seniors residing in the complex, serving them meals on a daily basis. As well as more of a personal experience, from age 18-25 my Grandfather lived with my family. From making his meals to helping him with his laundry we grew very close and I value every minute of our time together. My mother is 54 years old and was diagnosed with RA and fibromyalgia 10 years ago. As the only daughter of my family we decided that it would be best if I moved back home to help out. For the past 8 years, up till Fall 2013, I weekly cleaned my mother's home as well as cooked meals, did laundry, helped bath her and any outside errands she needed help with. Growing up I worked in my family church in the children's department from ages 13-18. I also babysat for numerous families in the church, one family with 3 girls in particular for over 4 years after school everyday. I have always love children and I have 1 of my own at this point. I have now experienced this exchange on a different level and definitely see the need for certain qualities and concerns as a parent and pride myself on raising a considerate and healthy child. I would love to one day when my son is older, attend school to become a Registered Nurse who specializes in Special Needs Pediatrics. I believe in both my personal and professional experiences I have gained very valuable training. In working with Children, Seniors and Adults with disabilities I am able to offer quality and stable care for different needs.
