I have been babysitting and nannying for 7 years for families of up to 6 kids ranging from ages 6 months to 13 years. I absolutely adore children, but know that one should put structure, responsibility, safety, and discipline as a priority over being their best friend.
I have ran a week-long art camp for kids out of my home for the past four summers. I also attended courses at the School of the Art Institute in high school. So, I have the experience, patience, and desire to do many creative, fun activities with your children. I am also a very involved Wyldlife leader (christian youth organization) for a group of middle-school girls. I take them to the camp for a few days each summer. I also love spending as much time as possible outdoors, whether it be swimming, hiking, strolling around town, or taking kids to the park. I grew up in a "no screen time/TV during the week" family, and I am here to say that I survived! I am including this because I have come to appreciate finding other things to do during the day and plan to do so with your children. I enjoy working with kids of all ages and I look forward to having fun while watching over your kids!
I am trying to attend classes, at least part-time at Fullerton College or Santa Monica College in California, which is why I am looking for jobs in Orange County or near LA. I am open to driving my own car out there from Illinois, if needed. I am also open to taking my classes around your family's schedule, whether that be evening classes, or classes while your children are in school. Either way, I am hoping I can make this work! I can't see myself ever working a job that doesn't involve kids, so I'm hoping I can continue nannying for families while I attend school. I have been lucky enough to make that work this past year back in my hometown of Hinsdale, IL (suburb of Chicago). I have plenty of references available upon request!
