A little about myself.
I am finishing off my undergrad in geography at WLU in Waterloo and my goal is to attend teachers college for primary education once I am finished. My mother and father live in Burlington ON, and my two brothers are both off at perusing post secondary educations.
My experience of baby sitting started when I was in middle school and I have continued to look after the children of friends and family when needed.
I really started enjoying and wanting to pursue a career in child care and educations while working with youth through the Scouts Canada program. I have been apart of Scouts Canada for over ten years, and in a leadership position working with youth aged 6-14, planning and directing weekly learning activities and games for around seven years. Through Scouts I have also worked as a camp counselor for three summers, as a rock climbing and canoe instructor.
This year I have started volunteering with a local grade one class to gain more experience working with youth in a tradition classroom setting. I want to be able to take my love of learning, teaching and caring and make it a career. As a babysitter or a leader in my programs, I want to make every moment educational and engaging for the children, while still going through the normal day to day task.
