I graduated in Speech Therapy (2012) when I had my first experience with caring for other people. In the beginning, I thought I wasn't cut out for it, but after a while, I could see that everything can be learned and most of the times, bedded people really need attention, love, and patience more than anything else. And their families need a break from the chaotic day-to-day life.
On my previous experiences with Senior Care, I've learned how to care for deeply needed people so I can confidently change diapers, bath, cook healthy (and delicious) meals, care for enteral diets, keep a deeply clean space and keep everything organized.
I have learned how to keep calm in stressful situations and how not to lose my temper when tested (mainly by children). I've been told that my greatest skill is to always find a way to fix things up and I really believe there is always a simple solution to the big ugly problems life presents us with.
