  • About Me

    I am a graduate student studying Social Work. I will be staying in Toronto this summer and am looking for a part-time or full-time live-out position between May 22nd-August 18th.

    About me:
    I am a 29-year old, responsible, socially conscious, and energetic female. My experience lies is international development, child and family services, and counseling. I am currently an intern at the International School in Buffalo, NY where I work with a licenced school Social Work with a number of at-risk teens with difficult behaviors and social-emotional disturbances. I am also a graduate assistant in Global Initiatives with the UB School of Social Work.

    Prior to my present work and school situation, I worked as a Program Manager at a refugee resettlement agency for a project that trained refugee women to open their own NY State licenced, in-home child care businesses. This experience required me to teach childcare regulatory measures and best practice to Buffalo's newest residents. Before working with the refugee community here in Buffalo, I was a Community Education Specialist with the United States Peace Corps in Zambia, Africa from 2011-213. While there, I implemented a community-based preschool program in which I trained a teacher and raised funds for a building. I also taught 9th grade English and a girls empowerment program while I was there.

    Other experiences with children and families involves working as a 1:1 aide with autistic preschool children from 2008-2010, various experiences as a summer camp counselor and mentorship programs, as well as a worker at a daycare facility during my undergraduate experience.

    I am a proud aunt, and the eldest of 18 cousins and siblings. Energetic, fun, responsible, and flexible to special needs, I am excited for the opportunity to share some of my summer with Toronto and a family that fits well with my background and personality.

    I am available weekdays from May 22th-August 18th but I do have another commitment from June 30-July 7. I have a car and clean driving record. References available upon request
