    I have a Masters in Reading and 11 years of experience helping students from kindergarten through 5th grade gain proficiency with reading and writing as a Reading Specialist in an elementary school. I was also a 3rd and 5th grade classroom teacher. After working with hundreds of students, I know that the means for providing tools for student success are as varied as the students. Students' individual motivation, interests, strengths and challenges provide the basis for strategies used to help them be successful academically. I love helping young people find joy in reading, express themselves through writing and discover how they can be successful academically. I recently moved to Ballard from Juneau, Alaska and am undecided about my next career move, which is why I am available and interested in providing tutoring services at this time.
