    Hi! My name is Shannon - I am 30 years old and temporarily living in Carleton Place while I'm waiting to move back to England (until late November/December). I have 7 years experience teaching children from ages 8-20 and tutoring experience with children ages 4-12. Before I became a teacher I babysat as my first job starting at age 12 and regularly babysat children in our neighbourhood (Nova Scotia). I became a big sister through Big Brothers Big Sisters during my 2nd year University (Dalhousie University) and remained her big sister for 3 years. I have updated first aid training (UK qualification). I have over 20 cousins, half of whom are younger than I am - so I have spent a great deal of time both personally and professionally being the carer of children since a very early age. I have worked both -paid and volunteer - with children with special needs (including behaviour disorders) since 2007. I am happy to provide both personal and professional references if necessary.
