Thirteen years of extensive child care experience, caring for four children close in age, has given me a lot of confidence and knowledge with raising children. I love kids of all ages and they love me. Your children and I would go on walks, exploring nature and culture. we would have dance parties in the kitchen while making lollipops; I could teach them to read and I could read to them with funny voices.
I know baby sign language and have studied child development and psychology both formally and informally. I have studied CPR and First Aid, though I could use a refresher. I am remarkably calm in an emergency, once having calmed down a five year old boy who stepped clear onto a roofing nail, and had him laughing, while we waited for help.
My talents are managing household tasks, cooking, cleaning, and child care simultaneously; being cheerful and fun; and being patient and gentle with discipline. I am also a photographer and could bring my pro camera over to document some of the fun things we do.
I am available for part-time work, as I have two morning classes at UVic. I am available every afternoon, part of mornings, and evenings or into the night.
I do not have a vehicle but I have a license and a 10-year driver's abstract. I am, of course, happy to get a criminal background check and offer references.
