I am currently a third year student in the Bachelor of Elementary Education program at Vancouver Island University. I have always enjoyed working with children. I volunteered as a camp counsellor at Camp Bob and Camp Homewood for many summers when I was in high school, and I currently volunteer with the youth group at the Salvation Army church. In the summer of 2014, I worked at Miracle Beach Provincial Park as a Park Interpreter. I frequently ran the Jerry's Rangers programs in the afternoons, in which I taught children ages five to twelve about nature. I also ran the family programs in the evenings.
I enjoy outdoor activities such as walking, hiking, biking, and canoeing. I believe it is important that children experience as much of the outdoors as possible. I also enjoy reading and learning new information.
