  • About Me

“You are acting like a child. ”—A statement we have all heard and, one, which should never be said. I believe that children have very intelligent and interesting ways of expressing their thoughts and feelings. I believe in containing children’s emotions for them—so that they learn that they can handle their feelings on their own, when the right time comes.
I respect children to no end. I learn from them and their fascinatingly interesting ideas & perceptions.
I do NOT do time-outs. Why? They leave a child feeling abandoned, confused & scared. If you are looking for someone who will do time-outs, we are not compatible. If however, you are looking for someone who will listen to your child, with compassion and astute observation, and empathy, I might be someone you are looking for. I come with partial training. I am completing a degree in Clinical Psychology with the intent of completing an MA (spec. children), Etc.. I won’t analyze your child—unless you would like me to. (Smiling). I do, however promise great care and respect, both for your child, you as parents, and all of the instruction therein, which come from YOU.
    Why should you choose me?
I am a good person. A good person who is raising a great person--(7. 5 years going on 18). She has deep respect for her peers, lovely manners and expresses her thoughts in a gentle way- and always appreciated by adults. About me and my daughter? We laugh. We joke. I sometimes overthink, but on the other hand, what constitutes a real bagel can have me pontificating for hours. It balances out.
A final ‘why me?’ Because I ADORE children and enjoy their company, and respect their thoughts and feelings. In a gentle way, I show children how to enter into new situations, and with their trust, success emerges.
Finally, on money. This is the most difficult thing any parent and caregiver has to talk about. Truth be told, if I could do this for free, I would. If you are the kind of parent who has a difficult time emotionally putting a value on your child’s care, lets just say, I understand. With that said, if you can empathize with both positions, we very well might be compatible professionally.
Faith: To be a good person. Overall: your heart is your religion.
