  • About Me

My name is Shannon, I am 20 years old and I attend Trent University in the Concurrent Education program. I do not have school throughout the months of May until August; therefore I would be available full-time if needed.
I am an outgoing and hardworking person with many interests including sports such as hockey, lacrosse, soccer and baseball, volunteering and being involved in clubs. For the past two years I have volunteered as a note-taker at Trent University providing those who are unable to take notes themselves with the information given in class. I have also volunteered with the PenPal program providing support and help with literacy to a grade 3 student.
I really enjoy working with children and have done so for the past 8 years, working with those from the ages of 1 to 13. I love spending time with children and after I am done school I will be doing so full time as a teacher. I am very energetic making it easy to keep up with fast pace children. I am also responsible and fun. I enjoy making them feel comfortable and bringing out their best qualities while also developing their skills. I am very easy to get along with as well as understanding, approachable and compassionate. I enjoy doing arts and crafts as well as baking and cooking. I feel that children have so much to offer this world. As much as they have to learn from us I also feel that we need to learn from them. My ideal job would be one where I am able to help the child(ren) with their schoolwork while also providing them with help in their own interests. I enjoy taking child(ren) to the park and taking walks through the forest where they are able to learn new things about their environment and themselves. Previously I have prepared meals, helped with home and done some light housekeeping.
I am excited for what the future has to hold and I hope that I am able to help care for your child(ren) in whichever way is needed. I am willing to travel anywhere in Durham Region to provide your child(ren) with the love and care they deserve. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions and thank you for taking the time to look at my application.
