  • About Me

Hi! Thank you for taking the time to visit my profile.

I'm looking for a Caregiver offer in any English-speaking area of Canada! I'm currently not in Canada and would need a sponsor for the LMIA. If you're interested, read ahead!

My name is Alina, and I'm an open-minded, respectful, enthusiastic and determined 22 year old girl from Brazil. I lived in the United States in 2015, where I studied Acting in Los Angeles. After that, I worked with different families in childcare in Brazil (0 to 10 years old) and as a private tutor (7 to 17 years old), before moving to the Netherlands to be an Au Pair for a year. Feel free to ask me for more information about my experience there! My former host family would also be happy to speak with you about their experience with me.

I was there from Dec/16 to Dec/17, and had the most amazing time with my host family. The two kids I took care of (two boys of 5 and 2 when I arrived) are incredible and it still brings me joy to meet them every now and then and to see how much they're growing, and their parents are wonderful people, and are still great friends of mine. Because I enjoyed it so much, I would love to have this same experience again, with a new family and in a new country, so I am looking for a family to sponsor me as a Caregiver in any English-speaking area of Canada.

I'm hoping to work with a trustworthy, respectful, open-minded and flexible family. I really hope to be a part of the family, but to also have my privacy and time alone when I need it. I definitely wouldn't mind living with pets (I love them, so that would be a plus!). I would like for my host family to be LGBTQ+ friendly.

I'm very creative and artistic. Acting is my biggest passion, and I've done it since I was a kid. I also love writing, drawing, painting, crafting and baking. I'm also very interested in history, world cultures, languages, and astronomy. I love reading, and try to save some time for that at least once a day. Some of my favourite activities also include board games, karaoke (I'm terrible at it, but love it!), video games (guilty...), movies and sports, especially soccer and baseball. I used to go camping quite often as a kid and still love it a lot, as well as travelling and hiking. I'm outgoing, but also love to be at home. I love joking, and my Au Pair kids say I'm quite goofy! I'm not an adventurous eater, but I sure do love spices! Mexican, Indian and Indonesian are my favorite foods.

As I come from a very large family, I love fun moments together at home, playing a board game, baking, or having a karaoke contest. My mom (and 90% of my large family) is an educator, so I believe my love for education stems from her and how she always had fun educational games for me and my sister. Although I come from a lively, warm family, I do enjoy both my time alone watching movies or reading in my room, and my time with people and having fun experiences.

I have a driver’s license, a valid passport and have attended a child and infant first aid and CPR course. If necessary, I would be willing to redo the course in Canada. I speak fluent English, Portuguese and Spanish, and have a basic knowledge of Dutch. I wouldn't object to caring for pets, as I love them and have had and cared for quite a few before! I am also willing to cook simple meals for the whole family and to do some light housework. Tutoring could also be arranged. I wouldn't have any problem at all with caring for children with special needs/disabilities. I try to be as patient, empathetic and understanding as possible and I believe that helps me with that.

Communication, love and understanding are the key to everything in my opinion, and that's how I approach childcare. I believe children need someone who listens to them, notices their needs and talks them through their issues, rather than someone who will only be unnecessarily strict and firm.

As I am from Brazil, I would need a sponsor for the LMIA. If you have one or if you're willing to apply for one, let me know! If you don't know exactly what it is, feel free to ask me for information on it, I'd be happy to send you a few resources!

Feel free to send me a message if you're interested in talking about sponsoring me to be your next Caregiver and/or if you have any questions for me! I'd love to hear from you.

I hope to meet you soon!
    Alina
