Hello families,
I am a Registered Early Childhood Educator with experience teaching children age infant to five years old. This age range is the most sensitive in a child's life. When they learn new things and brain formations are made or the connects are never formed and they die off.
I have experience teaching in a daycare, kindergarten and drop off setting, including teaching five year olds for a month in Jamaica. I am currently working at GoodLife Fitness in the child minding room. Taking care of children from 12 weeks to 12 years old, it can be a challenge working with multiple age groups all in one room but I love being able to work with a variety of ages as well. I am looking for a full time live out Nanny Position then I plan to give my notice at work since I am on the schedule month to month. I
would provide your children care with attention (safety and personal), rest, feed them, change clothes if needed, and change diapers. Take them on outings (parks, drop ins, libraries), read to them, play music and I have my own collection of puzzles, books and other child's toys that I have to bring at the right moments.
As an RECE I provide more than just watching for your children. I observe their skills and plan activities where the child thinks they are playing but they are learning at the same time, often in more than one area at once. (Language and co-operation for example) I would also plan them around topics that interest the child (an interest they have been talking about or showing interest in) because children learn more when they enjoy what they are doing.
In my free time I am always doing crafts, enjoying the weather, dancing to music and playing games as they are some of my favourite things to do. I also have an arts background, from a previous career in graphic design, which comes in handy when creating props for children's activities.
I am also interested in nanny shares. The $15hr I quoted is after taxes have been removed.
