My name is Makenzie Branch. I am a daughter and a sister of a very loving family. I was born in northern New Brunswick, however I have grown up in the Greater Moncton Area since the age of four. I grew up with a strong love for being around others. I loved making new friends as a child and to this day I still carry that trait. I am currently about to complete my first year of university, majoring in biology. I have set very high goals for myself involving my professional career path following my undergraduate degree, in the health sciences. I have always obtained a high average in school while participating in numerous extra curricular, and volunteer activities. I was Captain of my high school Volley-ball team, Soccer team and one of the heads of the Grad council committee. I also played leadership roles on many committees, other sports teams, and events held for the community. I was awarded a leadership/ sportsmanship award from my high school in my graduating year. I have learned many great people skills over my years being involved in the community, and also through other work experiences. These skills I will carry with me for the rest of my life. I am known for being a very responsible, outgoing, and caring person. Much from what I have learnt about working with children and adults also has come from my previous employments. I have worked for several companies including Island Beach Company (four years), Gojis Frozen Yogurt (two years) and Chez Gabriel's as a hostess (One year so far). On the side of working for these companies I have always babysat for several families within my community. I always put everything I have into the things I partake in; I strongly believe that is one of the main reasons I have never ran into conflict with any of my employers. Being an older sister I have always learned many things about communicating with younger children. Over the past few years, as my sister started high school I developed many skill sets to a higher level. These consisted mostly of the ability to give advice and being a trustworthy individual. Many people who know me will confirm that I have a personality, character and maturity level that far exceeds that of most students my age. I am a hard-working young woman who possesses a genuine determination to succeed and I simply love being in the presence of others.
