Hello there! My name is Micaela Pirritano and I am a third year student at Capilano University with the ambition to become a Music Therapist, working specifically with children. I have been working with children for 8 years, beginning as a babysitter, then working as a children's Trumpet Instructor. This past summer I worked as a full time Nanny for two lovely children, and it was a wonderful experience. Throughout my time nannying, I developed arts and crafts activities, outdoor activities, and educational games as well as tutoring sessions for both children. I prepared scheduled meals and snacks, and carried out light housework as well. In a nanny position, I believe that every family has their own unique needs that invite me to be flexible and attentive in how I can best contribute to the family.
Although I have a variety of different roles within my career in childcare as a nanny, tutor, and music teacher, my philosophy has consistently been centred around being a flexible yet stable support for children. I believe that giving children a sense of independence in a safe environment can allow them to learn. I strive to be there for them as a facilitator of development.
I'm comfortable working with all ages of children, and have long-term experience with newborns to age 12. Endorsed: friendly, reliable, great with people
I was Micaela's boss when she worked as a trumpet teacher at our studio. She was always very sweet to the children she taught, yet she always managed to aid in their development of learning the instrument immensely. She never missed a shift, and always came into work with a smile on her face. I recommend Micaela to any parent.
