When I tell someone what I do for work.. The response I usually get is "wow, that must be a hard job" truth be told it isn't a hard job because it isn't a job at all it is what I was made to do. It's the a place that at the end of the day I can go home and smile about. I get to spend my days watching the smiles on these children's faces light up because for the first time some of them got to go swimming or the look on a parents face when they watch their child do something they were told would never be possible. I do the work I do because for me it isn't about the money I make it isn't about who my coworkers are its about the children who I get to spend hours with making a difference in they're lives doing crafts, baking, having dance parties in the kitchen, taking walks, going swimming, reading, talking and singing to them. The best thing about my work is I can just be me because the kids I work with are not trying to be anything but themselves and I am not judged for singing horribly on the karaoke wii system or what I wear that day. All I receive is smiles and laughter. The children I spend my days with make a difference in my life maybe more than I do in theirs. And I wouldn't change any of it for the world.
