Hello. My name is Shandye I am 22 years old. I am the oldest out of 9 children in my family. I have been around children a lot growing up. Gained experience through helping my mother raise and care for my younger siblings. I took the babysitting course and began babysitting.
I worked with the YMCA After-school Care program for 4 years as an assistant in the FDK room (full day kindergarten) ages 4-6. Also had experience during the summer with the YMCA summer programs which ranged from ages 4-12. Alongside of working at the YMCA I was also a nanny for a family friend’s brother. I was looking after a 1 year old and 3 year old at the time. That family had purchased a home outside of Hamilton.
I wanted more for myself so I applied at Mohawk College for the Early Childhood Education program. I was accepted and started in January. I am currently in my second semester of school. It is a fast track program I will be graduating in April 2016. My hobbies include photography, enjoying nature, and spending time with my family. I am very organized, caring, reliable, and excellent with communication.
