    New Life Children’s Trust 2008 - 2011
    New Life Home Trust seeks to provide a compassionate response to the plight of abandoned and extremely vulnerable babies in Nairobi, Kenya.
    • Bottle fed toddlers, learnt to properly feed and burp toddlers to ensure their safety, and comfort.
    • Fed three to four toddlers each day I volunteered.
    • Played with three to five toddlers at a time
    • Cleaned toys, organised and put them away.
    • Cleaned playing areas, ensured safety for all children by checking for sharp objects and dangerous objects in the playing areas, removed all dangerous objects.
    • Put three to four babies to sleep each day.
    • Fed preschoolers and organised games to keep them happy, and entertained
    • Put preschoolers to bed.
    • Supervised toddlers and preschoolers during play time each day.
    • Got along with the children, developed high level of patience with immense love and compassion for children
    • Became familiar with the nutritional and hygiene needs of children.

    Kicoshep (Kibera Integrated Community Self-Help Programme) School June 2011- August 2011
    A national NGO working to improve the lives of marginalized and vulnerable people in Kenya. Provides numerous educational, health, vocational, and outreach programs to address rampant poverty.
    • Read stories to full classes of children between grade one to four.
    • Organized books in the library and cleaned the library to ensure it was suitable and safe for the children.
    • Acted as an assistant librarian during the children’s library lessons
    • Developed understanding of Children’s need for social and intellectual growth.

    Summer Project developer: Intern
    Shinning Hope for Kibera June 2014 – August 2014
    Shining Hope for Communities (SHOFCO) combats gender inequality and extreme poverty in urban slums. The organization pairs tuition-free schools for girls to holistic social services, aiming to make their schools an avenue for social change.
    • Implemented a month-long empowerment program in a low income school in Nairobi, Kenya where I worked with a group of forty girls aged between 10 – 13.
    • Created programs and activities with an aim to inspire confidence, courage, proactiveness and self belief in the girls.
    • Developed excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Developed creative ways of engaging, entertaining and challenging the girls while ensuring they had fun and stayed interested in learning.

    Fundraising, Communications and Development Assistant: Intern
    Atira Women’s resource Society May 2017 – August 2017
    A non-profit organization committed to the work of ending violence against women through providing direct service, as well as working to increase awareness of and education around the scope and impact on our communities of men's violence against women and children.
    • Prepared healthy dinners for Mother’s and children who were housed through the organisation’s family program.
    • Played with toddlers, preschoolers and grade-schoolers; and acted as a childminder whenever needed.
    • As an Intern, I was involved in all levels of event planning for the various events that the organization held for the children it housed.
    • Made animal balloons and helped with face painting for all major events hosted by the organisation.
    • Used excel and other database management software to catalogue all donations that came to the organisation.
    • Arranged and sorted all donations that came in for children these ranged from toys, to clothes, to school books.
