  • About Me

I graduated as an L.P.N and worked as one for a few years, until I decided I did not want to work in the hospital or nursing home anymore. My job entailed, taking vital signs, administering medications to patient as per doctors, giving insulin, taking glucose test, administering wound care, monitoring and recording progress of patients. I have also done tube feeding. I was responsible for 50 elderly residents at the Montclair Residence, which doesn't exist anymore.

I also worked for different health agencies where I did mostly palliative care. I decided I wanted to work one on one with a client where I can dedicate all of my time to that person so I decided to do private care, so for the past 4 years I have been taking care of a couple, husband and wife where the wife needed supervision in her active daily care, I would give her a shower, help her dress, help her with her medication and her nutrition. Her husband was the one that needed most of the care, he had a stroke and was on a wheelchair, so I would transfer him to and from bed, would perform his hygiene in, and sometimes in the shower, get him dress, get him to the table with his wife and they will have breakfast together and I would give them both their medication. If there was wound care to be done I would do it as per doctors order. I worked with the team of doctor, nurses, nurses aid, physiotherapist, occupational therapist, and t social workers to ensure my clients got the best care. They have both passed away the wife 2 and a half years ago and the husband 7 months ago. I worked from Monday to Friday and I did a split shift Monday to Wednesday I worked from 8:30 am to 1:30 p.m and then from 3:30 pm to 8:30pm. Thursday 8:30am to 1:30 pm and Friday 8:30am to 2:30 pm.

On the weekends I worked for a lady who has COPD from 12:00 am to 8:00 pm also for the past 4 years and she lives in Westmount, but right now she is in the hospital, and I will go and visit her, also I house sit for her making sure I pick up her mails and water her plants, and other things for her because her daughter lives in Toronto.
