I have experience in the not for profit sector and enjoy working with youths and families. I am particularly interested in childcare, community engagement, early stage education and the socio-economic needs of all youths.
While working at ARYA House with Life Without Barriers (LWB), a crisis accommodation for young people aged three to seventeen, I developed many skills surrounding childcare. With LWB I worked with young people who had been diagnosed with a mental illness/disability and those in need of a caring family environment. This experience has given me patience and a love for caring for children.
My 10+ years experience working in the public sector has equipped me with excellent customer service and communication skills and a real passion for working with people. I also have gained qualifications in cooking and hygiene practices. Also I am a trained Sushi Chef. I am very creative person and love anything that involves drama, arts, crafts and the education of children.
Community Drama is one of my great passions. I have used my academic qualifications in Performing Arts, to devise and lead a community drama workshop. This five week workshop was tailored for youth aged 6-11. This workshop ended with a production of ‘Grease the Musical’.
I feel have excellent people skills and I am always ready and willing to learn. I am a reliable, patient, caring, and practical person. I am a good leader who is able to think outside the box. I feel I could bring a lot to your family, through dedication and an honest approach to hard work. I would also love to expand on my skills and enjoy a challenge.
I have a valid C-CPR and First Aid certificate. I have a reliable vehicle, along with a Canadian drivers License. Professional and Character references can be provided. I can also obtain a Police check and Child welfare check, should you require them.
